G W Wilson & Sons is a family-owned farming business specialising in arable production, located at Larkstoke Farm in Shipston-on-Stour.
The farm's heavy-clay loam soil, as well as that of their clients, often requires G W Wilson & Sons to use a Case Quadtrac to pull an array of farm machinery. However, operators of this machine may encounter challenges when trying to mount and pull ploughs with this machine.
In response to a similar challenge back in 1971, Rodger Dowdeswell developed a groundbreaking linkage system for mounting ploughs to tracklayers. Dowdeswell ploughs are still highly regarded today for their strength, durability, and ease of maintenance. Given this, we offered Wilson the opportunity to trial the Dowdeswell DP170 plough on their land.
The combination of the Dowdeswell DP170 plough and the Case Quadtrac proved to be highly effective. In the video below, you can observe the plough effortlessly cutting through the soil, completing efficient inversions without snagging or straying from the intended path.
