The Challenge

After using their own Horsch Avatar 12m, Wright’s Agriculture needed a secondary cultivator to optimise soil conditions for seeding. They sought a solution that could efficiently create a stale seedbed across large, undulating areas of land. To find the right equipment, they reached out to AMTEC to explore suitable used cultivator options.

The Sumo Strake emerged as the ideal choice for several key reasons:

Working Width: Sumo offers straw rakes up to an impressive working width of up to 12 meters, making it well-suited for large-scale farming operations.
Speed: Despite its considerable width, the Sumo Strake ensures an even distribution of harvest residue, thanks to its ability to operate effectively at high speeds.
Hydraulically Adjustable: The tines can be adjusted from the cab, allowing for consistent soil tilth across the entire width of the field. Additionally, the Strake can be hydraulically folded to a compact 3-meter width, making it easy to transport and store.

The Result

Wright’s Agriculture now saves time on seedbed preparation and reduces fuel costs by using the large-width tined harrow, all while achieving the desired soil conditions for a successful planting season.
