What are flatbed, low-loader and bale trailers used for on farms?

Flatbed-style trailers, including low-loader and bale trailers, are popularly used on farms for a number of different transport and haulage functions, some of which are dependent on the specific design of the trailer.

General-use flatbed trailers find use across the farm for a variety of functions, from moving pallets of feed or seed to moving small pieces or parts of machinery. They are valued for their versatility and in many cases are designed for use on private farms themselves and on public roads.

Bale trailers are often designed specifically for the transport of hay bales between yards, storage buildings and fields, though generalised flatbed can be used for this purpose. They often feature specific features such as lashing points to help secure bales during transport.
